The Cape Fear Breeze is a joint initiative of the City of Wilmington and the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT). Our purpose is to develop and promote alternative transportation options that meet the needs of residents and visitors throughout southeastern North Carolina. Our goal is to improve or maintain the quality of life in our community.
The Breeze is guided by the City of Wilmington, Employer Groups and supported by staff.
Breeze Employer Group
The Breeze Employer Group is a collaborative working committee of representatives from area private and public sector employers. Members share information and work to develop and promote transportation alternatives that will benefit their organizations and employees, as well as the community. Members meet every six weeks to work on planning and implementation of their work priorities.
Current work priorities include recruiting and peer education, expansion of the web–based ridematching program and support measures, expanded on–site information and promotion of transportation alternatives, and development of additional initiatives to address congested corridors and peak commuting times. Members also provide regular input to the Breeze Advisory Board. View a list of current Employer Group members.
New members are eagerly welcomed. Find out more for employers. And contact us to learn how you can become involved.
Breeze Staff
